BROWNSVILLE - State Senator Eddie Lucio is speaking about the problem of toy guns and pellet pistols that look like real weapons.
Senator Lucio says it's a problem he hopes to address in the next legislative session in Austin in January 2013.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS showed the Senator video of the same pellet pistol 15-year-old Jaime Gonzalez had when he was shot by police Wednesday morning.
"First of all I think there should be a prohibition of some kind on the appearance of these pellet guns and airsoft guns that are sold in the state of Texas," says Senator Eddie Lucio.
The senator says right now there are no regulations on the appearance of the guns in the state. He says his office will go to work trying to bring the issue to the legislation.
